India Modi-fied. Baki Sab First Class Hai…..!
“Together we grow,” he said on Twitter. “Together we prosper. Together we will build a strong and inclusive India.Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to build a strong and inclusive nation as his governing alliance headed for a massive victory in LokSabha elections on Thursday. He signed off with #vijayibharat on his much-awaited tweet, as the #DeshKaMahatyohar, the Indian Lok Sabha Elections ended with the Modi TsuNaMo sweeping the country. So the exit polls were correct! And while we type this blog at AP we get a Rohit Shetty inspired Whatsapp forward “Paan Ho Ya Chewing Gum, Narendra Modi Singham”. Chalo, everyone’s got back to work.
The power of Brand Modi was seriously underestimated by the media, opposition and others as the country was looking for a charismatic leader to lead them to a better future than selecting a specific party. People brought back NaMo into power by breaking the 2014 record. The elections also saw their fair share of anecdotes like a SoBo-ite friend of mine who stood in a long queue for over an hour, overhead a middle-aged lady saying, “I am voting for someone who will not ruin my Seaview anymore at Worli” or my maid telling me one fine morning, “apne bank account se 300 rupaya cut hoga agar vote nahiKiyatoh” to “a resort owner in Junnar (Maharashtra), who campaigned against non-voters by shooing away visitors saying ‘if you’re not inked, stay off my resort’. The election frenzy this year also saw the millennials cast their first votes. This younger& aware generation put forth their modern opinion which may have actually paved the way for the country’s future. And our own virtual friend-Google dedicated its Indian landing page with a Doodle created on each phase of election helping people out on simple ways to cast a vote!
More buzz got added to the frenzy when Supreme Court agreed to urgently hear a Congress petition that said the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) continued silence on complaints about hate speeches and misuse of the armed forces as political propaganda by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. Whereas Twiterratis favourite personality Shashi Tharoor got court summons for ‘scorpion on a shivling’ comment about Modi. Ouchh..but, guess he is used to summons 😉 Yeah, but we love this handsome man.
Before the elections both the major parties released their “Manifesto’s” The Congress manifesto, titled “Congress Will Deliver” was launched on April 2, the BJP manifesto titled “Sankalpit Bharat, Sashakt Bharat (Determined India, Empowered India) was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8. A cursory glance of the two manifestos indicated that the Congress manifesto was majorly focused on economic reforms while the BJP has prioritized national security. Poverty alleviation, Startups & Entrepreneurship, Industrial Development, Terrorism, Farmers, Economic Roadmap and more alike churned to death topics find place in both their manifestos, but if and always when the winning party fails to fullfill the commitments made can the nation by large hold them guilty?? Yes/No? Makes me wonder. Dekhte Hai.
‘A separate law for kisan pehli baar’ – Karzmukti or freedom from indebtedness seems to be the focal point of Congress’s plans for the agricultural sector. As, Rahul Gandhi addressed in his speech. This “kisan budget” seems to be like a cherry on top in Congress manifesto is –a step which has never been witnessed before in the country. Yeah, this seems thoughtful. Whether, it gets implemented or not. Chalo, Time will tell.
A snapshot of election results showed over 3.04 lakh voters have voted for None Of The Above (NOTA)NOTA people won’t have any right to ask Why? What? When? Where? Period.
While the much- trended HBO series Game Of Thrones has announced its Crippled King for the Throne, the limelight is now on NaMo wave which will now be reigning the 17th Lok Sabha Constitution. The fights, campaigns, Parties and Alliances, Election Schedule, Opinion Polland Seat Projections, etc which had been ruling over the Indian Citizens for more than two months comes to a halt. Wrapping up the Seven Phase election schedule across entire nation, as a democratic nation we as Junta have done our bit. Now, it’s time for the King to do his bit. #VijayiBharat
But this entire situationreminds me of a song from Producer-Director Karan Johar’s latest flop movie song, Baki Sab first class hai, Kasam se..!
